Elaine Childs, MS, NCC, LPC
Ms. Childs attended Missouri Southern State University, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She earned her Master of Science degree in Community Agency Counseling from Pittsburg State University in 1995. Ms. Childs is a member of the National Board of Certified Counselors.

Ms. Childs’ work in the mental health field began in 1985 as a child care worker in a residential facility for youth. She was a social worker for the Missouri Division of Family Services for seven and a half years.

Ms. Childs interned at Ozark Center’s New Directions, where her training focused on treatment of alcohol and drug addiction. Clinical experience has included the treatment of adults and children with various mental illnesses in an outpatient setting, and the treatment of severely emotionally disturbed youth in a residential facility. Treatment modalities have included psycho-educational groups, evaluation and testing, individual, family, marital, and group therapy.

Ms. Childs joined Snider & Associates as a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2002. She is certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors. Areas of expertise include grief recovery, and treatment of youth suffering from anxiety, mood, and behavior disorders, particularly ADHD.
